How to find your people

Fundraising building blocks for small nonprofits

If you have plan to change the world, but no one is around to hear it… will it make a sound?

Building a strong community of supporters is essential for successful fundraising, whether you're seeking annual gifts, major donations, corporate support, or organizing events. Your people are the driving force behind your fundraising success.

A lot of fundraising boils down to two crucial questions: Why do you need to raise money, and who are you going to ask?

In our first installment, we tackled the compelling "Why" with the case for support. Now, we're delving into the equally vital "Who" – the process of finding your people.

In this video we:

➡️We look at an old-school acronym fundraisers often turn to when trying to figure out the WHO of it all.

➡️We examine why one part of this famous acronym is the MOST important one early on in building relationships with supporters in your community.

➡️ And I know not everyone loves a "funnel" metaphor, but I've got one to share that, I promise, is cute & fun to use instead of icky.

➡️ Plus, tips on how to find "your people". They are out there, and they already love what you do!

Successful fundraising STARTS with a passionate community that believes in your cause. As you identify and connect with more of your people, your fundraising efforts will flourish.
